Iโ€™m such a sucker for a good duet narration ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ I havenโ€™t read a hockey romance in a while, but I saw this was narrated by Christian Fox & Vanessa Edwin so I had to read it.

I loved Steele. Heโ€™s had it bad for Lilah for a long time, but heโ€™s so good about being patient with her as their relationship started & progressed at Lilahโ€™s pace.

Highlights:
- Romance: MF
- Friends-to-lovers
- NHL player
- He falls first and harder
- Slow burn
- It was always you

Lilah walks in to find her boyfriend (and coworker) cheating on her, and somehow loses not only her relationship and where she's living, but also her job because of it. She skips the hockey game she was supposed to go to and later that night, the one guy who's always been there for her, Steele, checks up on her and asks why she skipped the game. Naturally, because Steele is swoony as all get out, he insists on taking care of her. And it doesn't take long for lines to blur, as they are now living together while Lilah finds a new apartment and job.

It's been a while since I've read about a couple who has the love that Steele and Lilah have. And the fact that he waited so long for her made all the difference for me. Steele is a guy who isn't afraid of saying what he wants. Or demanding, in a good way. Lilah is a little too relatable at times, but hey that's what gets a book to really stick to you. And Waffles. When Steele brought home Waffles, he knew Lilah couldn't get away from him. Definitely looking forward to the next book!

It's been far too long since both Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox have narrated an audiobook that I've listened to. They were perfect in this book and I can't wait to hear them again.

A big thank you to Must Love Audio and the author for an advanced copy of this audiobook. Opinions are my own.

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You love guys who aren't afraid to go after what they want, and girls who finally give in.

Steele waiting for his chance with his best friend paid off in the best way. Lilah might have had her world turned upside down in the beginning of the book but Steele was there to be her safe space. And that man made my heart melt with everything he did for her just because he wanted to give her everything. I really enjoyed how low drama this story was with the characters handling each situation with maturity and the other personโ€™s best interest in mind.

I adored Steele in this book with his steady presence and how he never pressured Lilah. He just went at her pace and did his best to always put her first. And Lilah handled each situation that she encountered so level headed and in a mature fashion.

Once these two get past the barrier of being just friends they are absolutely combustible. Steele has a such a dirty mouth and Lilah eats it up. The trust they have in each other from being best friends for so long really shows in the trust they have together in intimate settings.

This might have been my first Jennifer Sucevic book but it will not be the last. I cannot wait to see what comes next for the Chicago Railers hockey team.

This was an auto buy for me with Christian Fox and Vanessa Edwin narrating this audiobook in DUET narration. The cadence of both their voices flowed so well together. I could not get enough of their voices and how they flowed so well they flowed together. Both of these narrators are favorites of mine because of the way they are able to embody each character and bring out the emotions whether they are happy, worried or in the throes of passion and once again these two were able to deliver such a phenomenal performance that was such a delight to listen to perform.

Make Me Yours is the first book in Jennifer's Chicago Railers Hockey series following a couple we've been introduced to in her Western Wildcats series. Lilah and Steele were best friends at Western University so fast forward to after college they're still best friends and she never misses a game, until the night she walks in on her fiance/boss with his assistant. Suddenly, she's now Steele's personal assistant and living with him until she can get back on her feet. As she starts to realize the connection between them, she's hesitant to ruin their friendship, so he offers friends with benefits to keep her until they can admit their feelings.

This book is my favorite of Jennifer's so far! The plot really started with a bang from the very beginning and while it's clear Lilah and Steele were close in college during reading the Western Wildcats, watching them still have such a strong friendship but start to acknowledge and act on feelings was so sweet. Steele has been all in from the very beginning and was patiently giving Lilah time to catch up while making sure she didn't get away again. I really moved the new side characters introduced in this and can't wait to get their stories!

Meh. I wonโ€™t be returning for the next one. It was not engaging and I struggled to finish. Very little character or relationship building.  We are told theyโ€™ve been best friends and heโ€™s in love but we see none of it.  It just is.  So very little actually happens.  We know little about him or his past.  We know sheโ€™s a lawyer who leaves law bc her ex and his new gf ask her too (ridiculous) and then she decides to bake ..with very little thought or business plan.  Just asked some players to try her baked goodsโ€ฆ. Bam.  Throw that law degree out.

โœจ๏ธ ARC Review โœจ๏ธโœจ๏ธ

This book starts with a bang and never lets up.

From the very first chapter, I was hooked. You feel Steeleโ€™s feelings from the get-go. Heโ€™s calm, reliable, deliciously possessive, completely loyal and convinced sheโ€™s the one. Only he thinks she doesnโ€™t feel the same. Spoiler (but not really): she does. She just needs that nudge and a healthy dose of friends-to-lovers chaos, to see it.

The slow burn is chefโ€™s kiss. Every look, every tiny moment, every undercurrent of longing builds until youโ€™re practically begging them to give in. And when they finally do? Absolute meltdown. Watching Lilahโ€™s feelings for Steele shift and deepen is pure magic. The moment they cross that lineโ€ฆ my heart could not cope.

Their friendship-to-love arc feels so natural, it's full of history and longing yet fresh and exciting.

Steele never lets her face anything alone. Heโ€™s all in from page one and it shows. The way their friends cheer them on from the sidelines only adds to the joy.

Speaking of friends, Lilahโ€™s support system was a highlight. Her friends plotting revenge on her cheating ex added so much warmth, humour and heart. Itโ€™s always great to see a heroine with strong friendships outside the romance.

Completely obsessed. Couldnโ€™t. Put. It. Down.

For a hockey romance, there is very little of the sport. I didn't find myself engaged in the romance because there were very little about Steele's background that we know of or how he and Lilah became friends and how he fell in love with her. I wish this book was executed better.
