I truly enjoyed this 🎧 audiobook 🎧 with Vanessa and Christian giving Lilah and Steele so much life and vigor throughout the whole book. I loved that they were able to capture them and share their journey together!
This is my first book by Jennifer and I don't know that I could have picked a better book to start with! I fell just as hard as Steele did for Lilah! I am definitely going to betting more of her backlist read as soon as I am out of my ARC era 😆.
I really enjoyed the journey that Lilah and Steele had. The friends to lovers 😍 trope was truly well played through the 📖 book! She was his 🍀 Lucky Charms and he was her man of steel who was always there for her when she needed him the most. He always knew that she was the one 😍 but hadn't quite had the perfect timing yet to tell her much less woo her into seeing why. He knew from the very beginning that 💖 Lilah had always been the one for him, but he was more than willing to wait until she wasn't with someone.
I loved ❤️ how Steele always made sure that she was taken care of even when he wasn't always able to be there. He knew her better than anyone ever could have, because he paid attention when she spoke, and when she didn't. Steele was such a cinnamon roll with that dominant side that I swooned every time it came out.
I couldn't get enough of these two, especially with that bonus epilogue!! I want soooo much more with these two!!!

I got a chance to listen/read this book in tandem. I highly recommend it. The narrators did an amazing job of bringing steel and Lila and all of the side characters life Christian Fox has a voice I can listen to all day. Vanessa Edwin brought the emotion without being over the top. I enjoyed how well these two narrators read together.
I love the dual point of view seal is the guy we all need in our lives. He puts Lila first and will do absolutely anything to keep her safe and happy. I thought we needed a bit more backstory how did steel feel being friend zone for over a decade? For me the spice was OK I do feel that there were moments where it fell a bit flat, relying on your imagination to fill in the spice. The scene started so good and then fizzled not awful, but not exceptional.
I truly enjoyed all the side characters and a very, very excited for those books. The little nuggets that were given salivating for more in this series.

Let me tell you, the first half of this book had me in a CHOKEHOLD. Steele was absolutely obsessed with Liliah in the best, most intense way. His control, his dirty talk, the way he handled every part of his life including her? Ugh. So so good. I LIVE for a man who knows what he wants and goes for it.
Liliah, on the other hand… I liked her, I really did. I appreciated that she didn’t try to challenge Steele in unnecessary ways or act out for drama’s sake. She respected their friendship and boundaries and pushed herself out of her comfort zone, which I admired. BUT… I really wanted more from her emotionally. I either needed her to fight harder for what they had before (friendship) or just throw herself into it this new relationship completely. The hesitation she had felt a bit forced and didn’t fully make sense considering how little internal conflict we saw. It felt like the story told us she was unsure without really showing us why.
Overall this is spicy, fun, bingeable. I just wish there had been a few more real hurdles to overcome and that the author spent more time fleshing out Liliah’s side of things.

Now that she's rooming with him, he's gonna make that dream a reality, in every way. He'll even realize what was once his most important priority pales in comparison to his Lilah.
Friends to lovers have never been so yummy and delicious as Steele and Lilah! Their evolution from best friends to everything is so seamless and organic - they had that chemistry that best friends have, and smoothed the way to true romantic, physical, and emotional love. It wasn't easy at times thanks to the nature of awful internet haters, but the strength of their friendship was so strong that it made it possible for their love to keep them together. The Chicago Railers are off to an amazing start with this awesome pair of friends/soulmates, now I'm really excited for River and Callie's story next, Hold Me Tight.

This one is a must read/listen!

OMG!! I have been sleeping on Jennifer Suvevic books and I will be changing that immediately!! This book was so hard to put down! Between the longing and the tension I couldn't get enough!! Easy 5 stars for me!!

You could just tell how much he loved her in everything he did and said. Steele and Lilah's connection was so real and I loved how their relationship unfolded with everything. They were perfect for each other!! I can not wait to read the rest of this series!!
