"I need to find Steele. When my world is falling apart, he's the only one able to comfort me."
If you enjoy the "it's always been you" trope, then this is the book for you! Steele and Lilah have been best friends for 10 years, but Steele has been secretly in love with her the entire time 🥰 All he needed was for her to catch up! And trust me, it was so worth the wait!! From picking up all her pieces to supporting her dreams, Steele's love was so pure ❤️

Lilah and Steel have my whole dang heart. 💕 I'm somewhat new to the friends to lovers trope and I think this book turned me into a FtL cheerleader. It was so easy to fall in love with Steele almost so quickly because immediately we are offered giddy moments that give butterflies. Lilah was sweet and funny, but sometimes I just wanted to scream at her! This gorgeous, caring man is so glaringly obviously into you girliepop so just go for it!
I think the pacing in the book was great. Since the characters have known each other a decade the reader can skip past some of those more slowed downrd "get to know the characters" type conversations that the FMC and MMC might have. We just had to deal with the sometimes infuriating internal monologues. What killed me is them arguing with themselves internally when I’m like come y’all just open your eyes and feel the love 😭
My only criticism is although the spice was pretty good some of the kinkier parts of it kind of felt like a character departure for Steele. It was very much so like a switch was flipped whereas if some of these things he’d wanted to do he’d already talked about in his head then they would’ve felt a little less surprising. Either way you look at it I will definitely be following the rest of the Chicago Raiders series and going through all of Jennifer Sucevic’s other series as well!
If you want a hockey themed banter filled spicy emotional rollercoaster type book then read this pleeeease!! 😁

I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Lilah and Steele's chemistry was off the charts. These two together are everything. The scene where he sits and tells her what to do... and the cigar... just wow! Mind blown!! I obviously loved the spicy scenes but I also loved how much he protected her and how much he showed her he loved her from the very beginning. The story had plenty of romance, sweetness, spice, banter and it was so much fun to read. The narration by Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox was exquisite. They did an amazing job bringing these characters to life. And Christian's voice during the spicy scenes... OMG melted into a puddle.
I really enjoyed the beginning of this book, it was captivating and exciting. In the first 75% there was great emotion and tension and I loved it. But I felt like all of the conflicts were either anticlimactic or just kind of fell off completely and felt unresolved.
“I want Lilah Monroe. Not just for tonight. Not just for tomorrow. But for every damn day after.”
𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐌𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒 is the first book in the Chicago Railers hockey series by Jennifer Sucevic.
I devoured this book and was swooning at how sweet Steele is! He’s been crushing on Lilah for years and after the tension starts building between these two, it’s no wonder when it eventually snaps! I absolutely adore the friendship they’ve had and it makes it so easy for their relationship to grow.
Audiobook🎧: Narrated in duet by Vanessa Edwin & Christian Fox - this was such a freaking good performance from both of them! I wanted to keep listening and it was so easy to follow along with the story! Easily one of my favorite audios for a hockey romance!

I literally read this entire book in one day. I devoured Lilah and Steele up! I'm a sucker for friends to lovers and this one is *perfection*. Steele has been patiently waiting, hoping for a shot with his best friend for 10 years. Now that he has it, nothing is going to stop him - not even her fear of losing him. Things build from the moment she catched Devon cheating on her - first with a place to stay, then with a job offer. Then he offers something neither of them can resist - an arrangement with benefits. Not only is there an adorable kitten named Waffles but their friend groups are incredibly supportive and I love the found family dynamic! It's not completely smooth sailing - you won't be able to put it down even after the last page and you'll be begging for more.

𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐌𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 is the first book in the new Chicago Railers Hockey series by Jennifer Sucevic, featuring a slow burn best friends to lovers romance for Steele and Lilah that brings tons of heat and swoon-worthy moments! Lilah’s life certainly took a turn when she walked in on her boyfriend cheating with his coworker on his desk! Jobless and homeless, she turned to her one constant, her best friend Steele, NHL star. Let the games begin… we have a Cinnamon Roll Hero with a heart of gold, a creative dominant streak, and secret obsession and love for her that goes back years! Literally everyone saw it but her, so watching the sizzling chemistry and tension unfold was fun! The payoff was… dare I say, cigar-worthy?😉🔥🫠 I love how well they knew each other, and the ease of their banter, both witty and spicy. In the emotional moments, he was just so 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 for her!! Every woman needs a Steele Sanderson!! I just wish he was quicker to speak up about his feelings!😅 The series is set up well with a great cast of friends and teammates that I am already super curious about! I can’t wait for more from this world!
I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Make Me Yours is book 1 in an addictive new hockey series by Jennifer Sucevic. This book centres around Steele and Lilah, who have been best friends since college. Lilah thought she had her life on track. Until she walked in on her boyfriend (and boss) cheating on her. Now she is questioning all her life choices and takes comfort in the once person that has always been there for her.
This book is filled with plenty of swoon-worthy moments that will have you eating up every delicious word. The tension and chemistry is undeniable between her and Steele when she moves into his penthouse and he starts to make his feelings known. It only gets more intense as Steele offers and arrangement that will give them both what they want.
Jennifer masterfully creates characters that have depth and the descriptive way she writes paints a vivid picture with plenty of detail. Steele is the Captain of the Chicago Railers and has been in love with Lilah for years, but the timing was never right. He is the epitome of the Golden Retriever Hero, with his caring and supportive nature and the way he looks out for Lilah, making sure she has anything she needs.
Lilah has been oblivious of Steele's feelings all this time and once things start to change, she struggles with wanting something more and not losing what they have if things don’t work out. Jennifer skilfully manoeuvres the complexities of friends to lovers relationships and the decisions that come with that.
Once they crossed that line however, all bets were off and Steele's dominant side came out. And OH MY GOD! That man. There was a whole different side to him that had me wanting to do everything he said right alongside Lilah! The spice was well done, Steele's commanding tone was in stark contrast to how he is in public, and I loved that!
One of the standouts of this book was the supporting characters. This is another thing I love about Jennifers writing. Her ability to masterfully create such fantastic friend groups. The casual, witty banter between them all helps to build a narrative that is addictive and engaging.
This was a quick read for me because I enjoyed it so much. I loved the added chapters of other characters and the little tid bits we get of potential other couples. Overall, this was a fantastic start to a new series, fans of friends-to-lovers sports romance will certainly fall in love with Steele and Lilah!

Steele is the best golden retriever boyfriend you could ever hope to have. The way he loved Lilah for so long but played the long game🫠🫠🫠 they don’t make them like him.
I’m pretty sure he made me melt every chapter with the acts of service he did. He just did them because he wanted. Because he always wanted her to be happy. Literally perfect…I can’t even.
I loved the friendship Steele and Lilah had. The way they both were afraid to lose one another if things didn’t work out. The foundation their friendship gave them proved they could go the distance with being more.
I also loved the girl gang in this book. The way they had their text chain, the way they had their coffee/pastry/chat times together. I just love friendships like that in books. I also loved that the author gave us a little taste of possible future relationships between some side characters.
I’m a sucker for hockey romance books, so I’m glad I was able to read this one!! Thank you to Valentine PR and the author for the ebook arc in exchange for an honest review!
