If I was aware of the ‘cosy crime’ genre, and that this book apparently fits into said genre, I might have had different perceptions going into Elly Griffiths second Harbinder Kaur novel. ‘Cosy it may be’, entertaining and fun it definitely is.

What really makes this book noteworthy is the assortment of unique and diverse characters we are treated to. 90 year old spies, a not so traditional Indian DS’s, a worldly Ukranian beauty, an ex-monk, and an eclectic bowtie wielding retired BBC producer. Could you ask for a better cast?

All in all this was another enjoyable read.
Thank you NetGalley and Quercus Books for a review copy.

Good, but I prefer The Ruth Galloway series. In this book, it felt like I was dropped into too many characters like it was already the middle of the series.

A 90 year old murder consultant for crime/thriller writers is found dead in her home and her caretaker Natalka is suspecting foul play.
This was a bit more of a cozy crime novel but very intriguing to read and the mystery in the book was very engaging and I was eager all way through to find new clues and finally get what happened. I'm a little bummed out that there isn't more books out in the series yet as I just want to binge more in the series but I have to be patient and hopefully there will be more!

Another Griffiths! I do have some left to read, from another series, but alas, there has been this evil hacking of the database and you can't even borrow books. ANIMALS! Anyway, no more books right now then.

But this one. As in the previous books it has many povs, this one has Harbinder's POV, the detective on the case. An then there is Natalka, Ben and Edwin, the busy trio. One a carer, one a former monk turned coffee shop owner, and one senior citizen.

A 90 year old is murdered. Her friends wants answers. Harbinder needs to solve it, cos oh my these three does try to find clues on their own, and more bodies follow.

I liked the busy trio, they were fun. And I like Harbinder, she has her head straight, I mean she has to as a detective, but still.

I enjoyed the book, I could not figure out who did it, as always, I never does. A good mystery

I have read and loved all of Elly Griffith's Ruth Galloway series so I was so excited to get my hands on this. And wow, it certainly fulfilled my expectations! I absolutely loved Harbinder Kaur and the story sucked me right in from page one. As with all Griffiths' stories, it is perfectly plotted and rockets along at a decent pace, ensuring the reader keeps their interest. I loved it and immediately purchased the first one in the series!

Brilliant lot of characters in this new series! Lots of unexpected twists and turns. Another enjoyable read from Griffiths and I will impatiently await the next installment.

Enjoyable mystery with some great friendships. Harbinder, the character who connects the previous book to this one, is only one of a set of narrators, all of whom are a delight.
