A fair story. I would've liked to learn more about Alice.
This was fun! Full of twists and turns and although I accidentally spoiled myself for the ending about a quarter through the book, I really enjoyed this. Both Iris and Alice were well-written characters with a good backstory. The rest of the characters (including the villain) just lack some depth.

This book is aimed at young teens, so it doesn't have a whole lot of meat to it. The characters are seriously underdeveloped. I hope this book inspires a new generation of Agatha Christie readers.

Alice is a rich girl—like her parents got her a horse for her birthday type rich. Iris, on the other hand, is struggling to get enough money to help herself and her mom escape from the situation that she can’t even bring herself to think about. Both girl’s worlds collide after Alice pulls an Agatha Christie and disappears for 5 days…only to come back to a town that hates her and parents that force her into tutoring with Iris. One day, though, Alice’s ex-best friend disappears. Is she just doing what Alice already did, or has something bad happened? Can Iris and Alice figure out the truth?
I really liked the references to Agatha Christie novels throughout the book. This reminded me a lot of Need by Joelle Charbonneau and You’ll be the death of me by Karen McManus. Only complaint is..why is it always the counselor/teacher lady?

This YA book was fun, but somewhat predictable. Had I read it as a teen, I think I would have rated it higher

This book is a diverse world of fun, but had some confusing plot holes and devices thay made it seemed rushed or too focused on lightheartedness instead of the original dark themes and topics brought up in the book, making ti seem like they were passed off in a way. All in all a wonderful book, Agatha Christie would enjoy it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I read some reviews saying that the killer was so obvious… but I disagree. I was flip-flopping the entire time. I love a good murder mystery! Very well written.
