To me, this book was falsely advertised. I expected a romcom about a woman falling for a ghost, but that’s actually the subplot. The heart of this book is its grief story—which is well done, but something that strikes a very different mood than the improbable (and ultimately predictable) romance.

Overall a cute book. A bit predictable. Found Florence to be a little annoying, but understood considering her childhood.

This book was a lot more about grief, or loss of a loved one, than I thought it would be. The seeing ghosts aspect was not as big a part of the plot as I would have liked, but I think it focused more on Florence's relationship with her dad and family than the romance. Or perhaps it was half and half, but the family part was more interesting. The character of Alice needed a bit more work, imo.
Overall, I enjoyed and would recommend it. It could be better if the relationships were a little more natural and evinced rather than asserted.
The ending was a little too pat. Not only is Ben actually alive, but he sees ghosts as well????????????????? and what is up with Rose and Alice being best friends suddenly?

What a cute read to nearly wrap up my 2024 goal.
I love a good romance but throw in a smidge of graveyards and ghosts and I'm definitely in. The narrator (Eileen Stevens) was quirky and quick and easy to follow.
Ashley Poston wrote about grief and falling in love and the reality that life doesn't stop really well, and this story kept evolving and spinning in a way that made you want to keep reading. Florence and Ben have a great chemistry and their dialogue flows naturally between them. Her family as supporting characters were well-rounded and likeable, and I wouldn't have minded hearing more about any of them. The Days as a family were lovable and honest, written in a way that makes you picture sitting at their kitchen table and watching them all orbit around you.
I'd definitely add another book by this author to my (never-ending) tbr.
