fuck these stupid fucking characters that i love so deeply that made me cry !!!!!
Beau and Celie’s growth in this made my heart swell HOWEVER i think a lot of the interesting aspects of the book were rushed such as the possession and the memory erasing, it felt a bit crammed compared to it’s predecessors.

While I thought this book was a perfect, fitting end to the trilogy...I did think it ran a bit long. Did it need to be 600 pages? I don't think so. Some parts dragged and I feel like it could've been done a lot more sooner and more succinctly. Towards the end of the book, I was just ready for it to be over with. It ended how I wanted, but somewhere it started to feel repetitive. Overall, I enjoyed the series and it's characters.

I have a love hate relationship with this series. After Serpent & Dove I wanted to love it. I started to dislike it after Blood & Honey. Then this book sealed the deal. I felt like this series had so much potential initially but got lost along the way. The character development seemed to regress rather then grow. Lou and Reid start out very mature and adult like yet they seemed to become more immature and make more irrational choices as the story progressed and I couldn’t get past it enough to enjoy the plot.

I definitely have mixed feelings after finishing this. I was enjoying the first half of the book until Reid gave up his memories to save Lou and then I honestly lost interest until the final battle (which was good but not great). I didn’t enjoy Reid’s reverse character development at all. It took a huge chunk of the book for him to regain his memories and when he did, the whole thing kind of felt flat. I did really enjoy the bits of Ansel we got. Especially the epilogue, that definitely warmed my heart. I am happy with how the series ends, but it most definitely did not need to be three books.

The Ansel parts made this book and it did feel like there were high stakes, especially with the end battle. This felt far better edited than the second book and the plot point of Reid losing his memory I didn’t see coming. There was a lot to the plot and it did feel overstuffed at times.
