Mixed feelings about this one. I think the plot was relatively interesting, I enjoyed following along with Alex on her adventures meeting people and trying to stay afloat. On the other hand I found her pretty unlikeable, I didn’t feel like it was deep that we didn’t know anything about Alex, instead it just felt like lazy writing. The end was extremely lazy and unsatisfying. Most of the characters were unlikable overall, but I did enjoy the journey. I think this is a good summer beach read, just not with a ton of depth. If you are looking to read something with more of a plot about women existing in sex work and the modern world with wealth, I can recommend some better books. Not the worst, but not the best.

It’s weird getting a glimpse of the privileged life through a vagrant? It is interesting to see how lucky Alex is- getting away with getting into these nice places without really knowing the people there. The privileged with their own problems that she is seeing parts of. She’s like a ghost leaving a little trace of herself and then disappearing back into the void, onto the next place of her haunt. Her own past is getting to her though, so she’s running away but still stuck in the same place. Alex is crafty in how she works, but it’s almost a sense of survival since there is nothing for her if she fails. One for the weird girl lit girlies.

quite frankly really boring. Literally where was the plot? Unlikeable main character made it very difficult to get through. Could’ve got over the dislikeable main character if there was a proper, gripping plot, but alas there was not. Really disappointed as the reviews looked good for this one!

Definitely propulsive and Cline is a great writer because as much as I wanted to scream at Alex for her decisions, I had to know what was going to happen next. I do wish there had been more detail about her backstory because I felt like it must’ve been rough and I kept waiting to hear more so I could fine a reason to feel more empathy for Alex, which was a tough ask at times.
