this was so good. it was eerie and well paced and i love her prose. i felt a little cheated out of the ending, though. she spent the whole book propping up this ghost narrative and i felt like she could’ve tied it together a smidge better at the end.

This is a stupid and soulless attempt at copying My Year of Rest and Relaxation and the sub genre of ‘self sobataging but complex fem-cel character’. This book is just boring, i couldn’t even be bothered to hate finish the chapter I was on let alone the entire book. The main character has no reason to be relatable, redeeming, or compelling. It just watching a com artist pitifully flounder against the consequences of her own actions that may or may not lead to a rock bottom (according to other reviews nothing really happens). There were parts where the main character came off as an unapologetic groomer. Please read something else!
