I usually find it easy to rate books, but I struggled with this one.
All vibes no plot, an unhinged underprivileged MC who is also an unreliable narrator - this should've been right up my alley and I was expecting it to be a 5 star read. And yet, it was not.
I liked how the MC was portrayed, the unravelling that we were witnessing, how we got to see her attempt to fit in with different crowds. We got to know only a little bit of her backstory, most of it being intentionally vague. It worked well with the plot, but I wonder if that is why ultimately the MC didn't reflect anything for me that would make it a challenging or a memorable experience.
I also disliked how anticlimactic this book was. There were multiple times where I felt like there was a set up for something big to happen, only for nothing to happen. The reveals that we did get somehow fell flat.
I can see how the ending would be a hit or miss, and unfortunately, it was a miss for me.
