DID NOT FINISH: 64%

The epistolary structure of this story didn’t work for me. Going so far back into each sister’s story delayed and detracted from their story and their impact on the resistance.

I recommend. Let's book club about it.

Based on the true story of the Mirabal sisters in the Dominican Republic under the dictator Trujillo. A beautifully told story of these brave women.

This book was an eye-opener into the Domincan revolution and particularly the Mirabal sisters' lives. I think the author did an amazing job with each girl's story, although Minerva and Maria Teresa were clearly the most interesting POVs.
