3.5 stars, rounded up.
This was a cute quick read that delivered the promised HEA. In fact, the ending is why I rounded up instead of down because it made me feel warm and fuzzy.
Otherwise, the book was… nice. Nothing more, nothing less. I rolled my eyes at the extent of Blake’s entrepreneurial stardom (*12* bars in five years?! We’re not even gonna try to go for realism here?) but I liked the New York setting. The plot otherwise was cute, I’m a sucker for ~fated reunions~ and coincidences and the whole getting closer again through proximity tropes, so

I feel like the last book ended with cowardly behaviour, and it continued throughout this book. It really feels like Farrah and Blake are trying to make something work that really just shouldn't work - if he wanted to stay with her and commit to her, he would. The amount of excuses that he comes up with just pissed me off, and the plot twist with Cleo I saw coming from the last book.
The miscommunication throughout the book pissed me off, it felt childish but these were supposed to be adults in their mid-30s?
Disappointing because the first book was so good. The side characters were the ones who held the story up in my personal opinion, Farrah stayed good throughout but Blake just gives me the ick.

I was excited that Farrah and Blake story was continued.
Just like the characters had gotten older I felt like the things they went through was also more deep and heavy than the first book. Mostly Blake’s story was one the heavier side
I would have loved if there had been a bit more depth and insight into Farrah’s job and also I would have loved if she gave Blake a little bit of a harder time when they first reconnected.
Some points through out the story I did think Blake was a bit of annoying character however I did end up liking him in the end.
So fare I love the “If Love” series and I’m excited to read the last two books in the series. I would definitely recommend the books if you like a romance story with a bit of spice.
