Incredible end to the three book series. Perfectly sumarises all plot points left over from the three books. All in all an incredible read and would highly recommend
"The Songs of Penelope" keeps getting better as you read it! Especially this one.
I remember starting this series, not really knowing if I liked the way it was written from an outsider goddess's point of view. But as you go from chapter to chapter, you find not only a retelling but also a very good original story.
This mythology retelling becomes a feminist, epic political, and mystery novel.
And this very last book brings the tension to its highest point. Spoiler: you will cry.
There are choices to be made, blood spilled, hatred and love, unfairness, and above all, growth.
Plus, I loved Penelope (and I am usually not a main character's fan) and Athena, whose POV is used to tell the story.

I’m… not quite sure where to rate this one. I struggled a bit with Aphrodite’s POV in book 2 at first, but then truly grew to enjoy it. Athena just… never quite struck the same note for me. Plus this one became far more Odysseus centered and like IDK man, I just don’t care about his shit.
Overall it’s definitely among the more “exciting” of the three with more bloody moments and battle. It was also nice to see Penelope be more openly snarky. The ending is fine, I was kinda hoping for something similar to Circe, but can also understand choosing to not end similar.

looooved athena’s pov & honestly so nice to see the way the three goddesses view the same relationships, still not the biggest fan of telemachus at aaaaaallll but i liked the version of odysseus (in the 2nd part) (also i’m a big odysseus girl anyways) however idk if i can ever forgive him for killing the maids esp w how we now are more attached to them thru this story, and their presence holding soooo much odysseus why…euracleia kys overall solid 3 star book i think

I was very pleasantly surprised how much I liked this book, especially since Telemachus reappears in the narrative and one of my biggest gripes with this series is how much I hate his characterization. I was dreading a bit to see how Odysseus killing the maids would go down in this series, but I found North’s ultimate portrayal and handling of it to be quite well done, in my opinion. I also liked how despite everything, North managed to portray convincing homophrosyne between Odysseus and Penelope, which gives her a leg up over every other Penelope retelling I’ve seen. The side characters all shine very well in this book, especially Penelope’s women. Overall, I found this book to be a very satisfying conclusion to this series
