Really beginning to get into this series (Grant County).

Once again, another great book by the great Karin Slaughter! This book hooked me from chapter 1, and kept me intrigued and guessing who the perpetrator could be. When I got to the end and found out who it was, that person was nowhere near my list of suspects. This series has truly been great, I can’t wait to get to the Will Trent series. 3 down, three more to go!!!

While I'm still enjoying this series overall, this story was weaker than past ones in the series. However, the author's writing style, pace and storytelling are still what make me rate this with 4 stars.

🌟🌟🌟🌟

A Faint Cold Fear is book number 3 in the Grant County series by Karin Slaughter. The story sees us back in Grant County with our main characters Sara Linton and Jeffrey Tolliver as well as Lena Adams and Frank and is told over the period of six days. It starts with a suspected suicide that doesn’t seem to quite add up and continues to snowball from there. Karin Slaughter does not hold back with her graphic descriptions of dead bodies and injuries so beware if you are squeamish. Lena features as one of the main characters in this story who seems to be on a path of self destruction after previous events; I found her character to be frustrating whilst also feeling sorry for her. I felt this book didn’t have quite the same pull for me as the first two, seemed to go around in circles at times and wrapped up quite quickly at the end. It was however an enjoyable read which finished with a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to track down book four; Indelible.
*Trigger warnings worth mentioning: suicide, rape, domestic violence, assault, drug use and alcoholism

Slaughter is not for the faint of heart. Definitely a lot of trigger warnings in these books, but I love her writing style!
