This was my first non 5 star for this series so far. Lena's behavior crossed over into immeasurably frustrating and I struggled through her chapters. It is also funny to me that in this small town there was another serial killer there since book 1 beyond the others. I really liked the Where the Crawdads Sing ending though.
I read this while on holiday and despite it not being a book I would normally pick up it definitely surprised me and I will read more books of hers. The story line left you second guessing even up to the very last pages and leaves you wanting more

This book was an intense thriller in the Sara Linton/Grant County series, focusing mostly on Lena Adams and her struggle to identify the killer while dealing with her own personal issues. I liked the character interactions and the plot moved along well.
3.5 stars.
I felt it was a little hokey in the way it all wrapped up. Like too many things had to be in place for it to work out but that's how a lot of these books work. Still good enough to keep me wanting to read on with the next book.
PS Jeffrey and Sara are on my nerves by now
