It was definitely interesting to read the original book after seeing so many movies and plays that have been based on it. It is definitely far different than any of them. This book has a very straightforward writing style, which makes it great for kids. I did enjoy the story, though in always disappointed that the Wizard has to give something to Dorothy's companions in order to satisfy them. I always want them to realize that they have the qualities they seek already and that's how they've come so far.
