Recommended by my mum, I was eager to start this book. The story follows a young con artist who must find a way to claim her lottery ticket without turning herself in. I was drawn in by Lucky and her many alias' and endlessly enjoyed the plot and how it followed Lucky through her life in crime and explored the pressures she felt by the unconventional childhood she grew up with.

Almost gave it two stars…but it was a quick read and I didn’t hate it. Maybe I’ll settle on 2.5.
The only reason I can think that Reese picked this book for her book club is that it would make a fun movie. The ending was wrapped up way too quickly and felt too neat compared to the rest of the book.

Graphic: Miscarriage
Loved that the prologue got mixed in with the story about finding the real mother. Wanted more about Priscilla and the money issues. Seemed a bit rushed at the end but really enjoyed that the mom helped bring down the woman who was trying to do her in.
