3.5 stars- quick read, it had elements of family drama that was thrilling in some parts, but I wouldn’t classify this as a thriller.

This was fun and breezy, but there were some plot points that never got fleshed out

Lucky was a quick, easy read! I like Lucky's character and her unique backstory with her mother abandoning her on the steps of a nunnery and her being picked up by her scheming "father". I thought that the pacing of the novel was good but I would have loved to see more time spent at the end of the book showing Lucky rekindling with her birth mom and showing us where she ends up in the future. I think it would only have been fitting to show where she started and where she fully ended.
I rated this book three stars because while I liked it, and there wasn't anything inherently wrong with the writing and the plot, I just didn't love it. The story was still fun while also being deeply poignant but I don't foresee the story sticking with me and just didn't feel a connection with this one.

Solid 3.5 stars. It was a quick read about a 26-year-old on the run, dealing with the con artist life her father had forced her into while growing up. I would have liked to explore her inner dialog a bit more because she was obviously wrestling with some guilt and struggling to find her identity, but the book mostly focused on her quest to find her mother.
