Quick and fun! A little shallow of a read.

This book was such a crazy, unexpected journey. I thought this was originally more about winning a lottery ticket then being a con artist/grifter, but boy was I wrong. It was still extremely interesting and was a quick read! I appreciate that.

3.5 rounded down, some parts felt slow but overall enjoyed it

This was fun! Such an easy read, too — finished it in just a few hours. The plot was a bit predictable, but I do love a badass female main character and Lucky was just that. The ending was wrapped up a bit too quickly and nicely to feel realistic, but I still enjoyed it. Definitely recommend for a beach read, or long travel day.

Really enjoyed this one. Broke me out of a reading slump.

This is one that I'm on the fence about. I do not think the story needed the back-and-forth timelines; it could have been succinctly told in a less distracting manner. However, I felt that the beginning was better than the ending. Sure, it was okay, and the "heist" and "lottery ticket" and "family drama" all gets resolved well. It just felt like a coming-of-age story that I lost interest in partway through. There was something that just never connected me with our protagonist, a young girl who was raised to be a criminal by her father, then falls in love with a criminal, and then gets caught up in all kinds of plots against her and her family. I mean, cool. A quick audio-listen. But not something I'm going to be talking about in a few months.

3.15 stars. Not a realistic story, but somewhat entertaining. Lucky is a was raised by her dad who doesn't want to discuss who her mother is- but she has been fixated on this all her life. Her dad is a conman and she in turn has learned the trade. Her attempt at getting away from that life is ultimately unsuccessful, not her fault, though it doesn't really fit with the rest of the story. I think that is where it fell flat for me. While I like the authors writing style, she tries too hard to have a sharp edge, quick paced, and action packed. But the tension, thrill, isn't there. I really wanted to like this book more.

Hmmmm I'm still not sure how I feel about this book. It took me a while to get I to, I preferred the second half but just left me a bit meh

Super fast read, I loved it
