Lucky by Marissa Stapley
This is a short and sweet story about a con artist. I love con artists! Always such fun and clever stories and was super interested in the sentence on the front cover.
I enjoyed this story and loved Lucky. The premise of the book was so good and I really liked the back story of how she grew up. My only problem was the pacing of the book. Even though it is only 230 pages, it still seemed to be slow in the middle. Then it wrapped up super quick! I would have loved to see more of the characters at that point of the storyline.

This one wasn’t for me. Conwoman raised by conman has con-boyfriend. I guess there was some redemption, but I found it hard to empathize with the protagonist. TW: miscarriage.
This was my first official Reese's Book Club pick and I really enjoyed Lucky's Story. However, I feel like I didn't start caring about what happened to her until towards the end. Overall, I am pleased with the story and how Lucky was able to overcome her past and start new.
An enjoyable quick read without any real surprises. The ending felt rushed and too neat against the backdrop of Lucky's messy life.
I’m surprised that this book is so highly regarded. To be honest, it IS a very interesting subject matter and and the plot is fairly riveting, but things happen so abruptly it hardly makes sense. There are so many plot points introduced, but then suddenly it’s like “the end”. I wish there was a better ending-the way it is, things hardly felt resolved.
3.5 started out so clever but just fizzled to a tidy ending.
A very enjoyable novel about a woman with a big dilemma. I was engaged by Lucky's personality and my heart went out to her so many times. The author did a great job of portraying her grifter father as both manipulative yet loving and in many ways a victim himself. I found the story arc a bit uneven, with the first part weighted down with unnecessary detail and the second part a bit rushed, but that didn't interfere with my enjoyment of the story.

I’m absolutely in love with this book. It was fun, unique and emotional. I couldn’t stop listening(audible). I found this book on Reese Witherspoon’s book club list and I’m so happy I did. It was a wild journey weaving back and forth in time. Very well written and beautiful.
