There were a lot things about this book I enjoyed. There are a lot of beautiful descriptions of feelings and anxiety. However I found the main character to be pretty unbearable, and not in the good Unlikable female character kind of way. Often people speak to her asking her questions and saying her name over and over and she just says nothing. Couldn’t stand it. The ending did have a nice twist though.

I really liked the prose starting out, and I found the MC to be compelling in her introversion and journey to constantly find her "purpose." The MC constantly trying to percieve herself through others to help her find her own way to living life "right" was an interesting element. However I really felt that the side characters and "plot twist" was very one dimensional I remeber not even halfway through the book that I already had the suspicion that Jones was Nora's ex-wife, and was definitely confirmed with Nora' outbursts when the MC would mention her. It just was not very subtle and made it feel like the author didn't trust the reader to piece it together themselves when it was finally revealed. And on top of it all the ending just felt very rushed to me and did not flow well with the sporadic time jumps, and I was not satisfied that Nora got away with sleeping with Jones' student.
i enjoyed this one, but the sudden pacing change towards the end really threw me. i also predicted the major twist towards the end of the second act, but the writing (especially natalie's inner world) was really gripping. i kept looking forward to listening to the audiobook, so i take that as a sign that i was interested; i think the ending just felt really rushed and not tied up all the way. 3.5 stars
I don’t know what it is about a sapphic romance.. especially an age gap that I find so intriguing. I didn’t realize there was going to be such a climax in the novel. I also loved this authors writing a lot. Loved it!

The writing in this novel was soooo beautiful. I loved the way the main character described and articulated her surroundings and thoughts and how it began to devolve. Only complaint is I wanted the main character to enact revenge on her predator when she had the chance. I need more from this author!
