I would say 3 and a half stars. It was slow going for me in the first half and I kept putting it down. I did however, love the characters. Especially, Josh who I found hilarious. I really began loving this book when Eden and Ky picked up the pace. I guessed the secret and as glad it wasn't worse than I thought it had been. I was hoping for a quick HEA after the relationship really started blossoming. But I knew the past had to come back. It was just lurking and waiting. My only problem is although she was not raped again, she went through so freakin' much! A simple slap and Jeremey trying to take her would have been enough to get my heart racing. Everything Eden went through again made me sick to my stomach. I wish it wouldn't have been so extreme. I also didn't get her leaving so soon after to go on tour. I'm happy Eden and Ky wound up together and I would definitely read this author again.

Be My December
Ky and Eden were both so broken from the same incident. You knew right away why Eden was broken however it took almost the whole book to see how/why Ky knew Eden and why he was broken. The book was about healing and finding love again.

I was surprised to find this was my first Rachel Brookes read. I've been missing out. Eden's been through so much bad, turning her from a vibrant girl to one hidden inside herself that it's heart breaking. Ky knows Eden and he knows she's more than what she shows anyone. He believes in her, in who she can be, and he doesn't give up on her. Eden was so sure she was damaged, too damaged to find true love, and then Ky walked into her life. This was a beautiful story of following the light to get out of the darkness while trusting the man who loves you to shine that light your way.
I received this arc as a gift in exchange for an honest review for a blog tour from the author

Where do I start? I'm very bad at writing reviews. I always have a lot to say but once I start writing, it's usually hard to say exactly what I want to say or I normally forget some things.
First of all, this book seemed way too sweet to be true. It could be me that's the problem but I was too good to be true. Too perfect.
Secondly, the writing was good. The characters were...um wow where do I begin? His character was honestly way too perfect, way too sweet. What was even his flaw? She was supposedly so beautiful that every head turned when she walked...that sounds a little too good. It didn't ring realistic with me and she was supposedly perfect. It was annoying. I get what they meant but It ruined it for me. That's my personal preference. I don't like books that are too..it doesn't feel real and it's not as good without a bit of a drama. On the subject of drama, the near ending was wow. I'm glad those sick cousins got shot. They deserved it. It was really saitsfying, definitely made the story better for me but I wanted her to be the one to kill them. That way this book wouldn't have felt like one of those books where the girl always expect to be saved. She didn't really save herself much in this book. She didn't take her freedom. It seemed like he was always coming to rescue to her and that kind of bothered me.
Again, that's a me problem.
Besides that, I don't think I have much else. Oh and I'm over romantic books always ending with the same endings. A fucking proposal. Ugh stop. Try to be original. Sorry. I really am glad she got over and learned to live again.

Just finished "Be My December" by Rachel Brookes.
At first, when I read the synopsis, it didn't really appeal to me but then I read reviews and got curious. I won this book in a giveaway, for which I thank the author again.
If I had to describe Eden and Ky's story in one word, it would be : INTENSE.
Eden faced a more than traumatic experience when she was 20, since then it had been difficult for her to live as she used to so she keeps pretending to be someone different everytime and comes up with rules that seems really strange at the beginning but well, we kind of get it a some point...
Eden was a nice character, not an amazing one, but a nice one. She didn't particularly annoy me but I didn't especially loved her either.
Ky, on the other hand was amazing. I loved his character from the beginning.
I loved the other characters as well : Josh, Ashlyn, Ky's family, Douglas...
This story was sweet, sexy and full of angst. I liked that.
There were other few aspects I didn't like. To be honest, it's not the kind of book I particularly like to read but this one was nice enough. I would have liked for certain things to have been different, for example some scenes which I found unnecessary, as well as some drama which could have been avoided, and certain dialogues which were a bit too much...
But in overall, I recommend for readers who like a good romance, full of angst.

I really enjoyed Be My December by Rachel Brooks.
Something terrible happened to Eden Rivers. It forever changed her. After that night Eden lost all hope of a happy ending.
Then there's Ky..... omg I loved Ky. He was sexy but polite. oooooohhhh and he got all ALPHA MALE... yum
Ky knows what happened to Eden, and he blames himself for it.
At some points I was shaking my kindle because I just wanted to know what happened from Ky's point of view. How did he know? Why did he blame himself?
The whole book all I wanted was for Ky and Eden to get together. What can I say, I'm a hopeless romantic. But Rachel did not disappoint. Ky and Eden's story was amazing. They had A LOT going against them. More than most. But they tried their best to overcome it!!
Rachel you have a forever fan out of me!! I can't wait to read more!!
