The intensity between Dmitry and Claudia is red hot! I loved that Claudia was a strong individual, yet still innocent despite being raised in such a hard life. Dmitry is the amazingly strong, possessive, dominant, touch her and reap the consequences type of MMC. I thoroughly enjoyed their story!
Wow!! I couldn’t put this down. Mafia, arranged marriage, age gap,protector, slow burn. This has so many goodies in it. I loved how protective Demitri was and how their relationship grew once she was older. She is a strong female lead and I appreciated that about her. I can’t wait to read Gio’s story.

I would liken this book to a slice of Tiramisu cake missing the chocolate shavings on top. The cake bit has just the right amount of bitterness from the mafia aspects, with a decadent kind of sweetness from all the care and obsessive love of the main story. The only thing it's missing is an actual conflict sprinkled on top because everything is solved quickly, with little need to be solved in the first place.

I was so excited when I got this book that I devoured it in no time. Jenika Snow is a very consistent author and I know that no matter what I pick up by here that it will be a great read. Little Bird is the next book the the underworld king series and probably one of my favorite mafia books of the year. I loved the possessiveness of Dmitry and every single possessive thought and action he does to get what he wants. I would keep expanding upon it but don’t want to accidents spoil anything. A book you definitely want to pick up and one I will be purchasing for my physical library!
