3.25 stars!!! Not gonna lie, the first 50-75 pages of this was kinda a slog until Bee and Levi’s relationship defrosted. I found the romance cute, but just wanted more from the side characters. I really liked Penny, Lily, Rocío, Kaylee, Boris, and Reike, just wanted more! I think sophomore novels can be really challenging. So you stick to the formula that made your first book great, or do sowmthing different? I think Love on the Brain does both. I don’t think the couple is exactly like Olive and Adam, but the similarities are definitely there. I did enjoy the Ali Hazelwood style banter and whenever bee or Levi references their future kids, I honestly found it super cute!

I liked this book however there was alot of Marie Curie for me- i understand its supposed to be part of Bees personality but it felt a little excessive and lots of irrelevant tangents. The STEM focused plot was good but alot of stuff was overdetailed and probably overwhelming for someone who doesnt know what the cerebral cortex is. It was overwhelming for me at some points and I study biology. I loved the STEM parts but it was ALOT for sure at some points. Too much detail for a fun romance book.
This book was advertised as a spicer book than TLH with praise- this was not that at all. There was the same amount of spice and like 2 lines of praise. Adam and Levi felt like very similar characters. I would like to see Ali write a different male character. This also felt very similar to her novella Below Zero. I did really like it though so i give it 4 stars but i hope to see different things from Ali in the future
