what the hell did i just read. this was so dumb and repetitive and chaotic and honestly just a waste of time. i cant believe i actually read the whole thing. if you like horror, dont bother with this

who gave this man the audacity to say "non-natives mischaracterize native american characters all the time. but not me. bc i said so."

Stolen Tongues had me on edge from the very beginning. By the time I was 15% in, I was already getting goosebumps, and they didn’t stop coming in waves throughout the entire book. As someone who’s been creeped out by this type of monster since childhood, I can confidently say this book was exactly what I was hoping for. It pulled me in and kept me hooked, and I honestly would have finished it in a single sitting if I hadn’t accidentally fallen asleep at 2am.

The writing style worked really well for me. The story was presented in a way that only added to the growing sense of dread and anticipation. Some readers seem to have issues with the repetition in the storytelling, but for me, it actually heightened the tension and kept me anxious for what would come next. It wasn’t a distraction—it was part of what made the atmosphere so tense and immersive.

That said, I’m aware there’s some controversy surrounding the author and whether they had permission to tell this story, but I’m not fully sure about the details of that issue. For me, it didn’t detract from the experience, but it’s worth mentioning for those who might be concerned.

Overall, I really enjoyed Stolen Tongues. It delivered the horror I was looking for, and I’ll be thinking about it for a while.
