This is a memoir written by a comedian who writes for Inside Amy Schumer. It's exactly what you would expect. It's a funny, quick read.

Relateble tales of a women’s life struggle with appearance, love, career and ideologies. It wasn’t particularly funny or insightful, but the series of stories were entertaining. An easy read for when you just want something lighthearted.

This was so good. I started reading this while waiting for tests at the hospital and and related immediately to her stories about growing up and not feeling feminine enough (make up and hair is still a mystery to me). I found the end of the essays sort of trailed off for me, but it's a fun light read.

3.5 ⭐️- It’s hard for me to resist an audiobook essay collection. This was good but not great. Jessi Klein is a stand up comedian and writer, and she spends this book detailing different parts of her life- from being a “Tom man” to dating woes to stand up comedy to meeting her husband to fertility woes. There were definitely parts of this I found to be relatable- her wedding planning and dating stories in particular. I admired her honesty and did find her to be witty and funny. There were also parts that felt pretty self indulgent and went on too long for me/struggled to keep my attention. At this point I’ve read SO many memoirs and essay collections that this just wasn’t my favorite.

I found myself giggling all over the place as I read this. It's a quick and easy read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

"This was when I learned one of the biggest secrets of being a woman, which is that much of the time, we don't feel like we're women at all.”

"Women have problem areas in a way that men don't. We have big hips and muffin tops. Men just have the thing where they create wars and wreak havoc all over the globe."

My favorite feminist comedy memoir to date, and I've read them all.

I loved the audio version of this. I enjoyed most of the essays and had my husband listen in on several of them. Although I don't have a lot of the same life experiences as Klein, I found her stories relatable and funny. Nothing really sticks out as overly memorable though.
