This book was a 3.5 rounded down. Kieran Sullivan is recently released from jail and has one mission: find out how he was framed and get revenge. What he doesn't expect is to meet sunshine and broken boy magnet Finley. Finley is a supervisor for the horses at Redemption Ridge where Kieran is getting his second chance. Kieran's ulterior motives for being at the ranch are quickly forgotten about once he accepts the temptation that is Finley.

I think Kieran and Finley worked well together, Kieran was used to being let down and didn't trust anyone and Finley was the first person to give him hope and believe in him. Despite this, I felt like we didn't get to know Finley enough. We know he has a history of liking the bad boys and wanting to fix those who are a little bit "broken". We also know his last ex ended up leaving him and joining a cult that has slowly become a large nuisance in the town. The cult was something that was brought up a lot but not really given any more information on. I felt like it wasn't necessary to the book at all.

There were points where I felt like the book dragged a bit, some of the inner monologuing was sooo long where I found myself sort of skimming and skipping paragraphs. Once Kieran and Finley got together it was a lot better and I wished they could have had more moments together. The build up and portions of time when they weren't speaking felt longer than the time they actually had being together which isn't my cup of tea for a romance novel. The mystery aspect of this book was intriguing enough and I definitely found myself reading on because I wanted to know what the twist was going to be.

And oof did this book have some good lines:

"What we shared obliterated anything I'd ever experienced with anyone else, and that's the part I need you to believe."

Finley sighed and shook his head. "You can't give me that kind of power."
Kieran trailed a finger across his jawline over his lips. "That's exactly what I'm going to do. You make me want to believe, and someday I will."

"You make me want to believe that anything is possible, and it's the most wonderful gift I've ever received."

*I received an arc and this is my honest review.

Not sure why I put off reading this for so long. I know I enjoy the author's writing. Silly brain. Anyway, I super enjoyed this book, though I have to say that Finley's mother was probably my favorite character of the whole thing. I can't wait to read more in the series, though. Definitely hooked!

Kieran has just been released from prison after a 20-month sentence for a crime he did not commit, and he plans to find out who set him up. Kieran has been let down his whole life by his parents, the foster care system, and the justice system. He gets a job at Redemption Ranch and finds himself drawn to Finley, a horse trainer with a magic touch. This read was full of angst because Kieran has a lot of built-up distrust. I'm not a big fan of slow burn, but Aimee wrote it well, so I enjoyed reading this.

Thank you to GRR for providing this ARC for my honest review.

I am a big fan of this author, her Curl up and Dye mysteries are amongst my favourite books, so I knew I would love this book, even before seeing the amazing front cover. This story has a very different vibe to previous works but the common factor are the amazing characters she creates. They are always so likeable and believable. Finley and Kieran were struck by each other straight away and the flirting and blushing cheeks started early. Their relationship is a slow burn but this works with the pace of the story. There is an underlying mystery that runs alongside the storyline which gives great narrative and added a level of excitement. The secondary characters were good fun; I loved Finley's mum, she was such a character. We had an epilogue that paved the way for a happy future and we were given a glimpse of the next two character's who have a story to tell. I am really looking forward to the next books in the series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

"This stunning stranger might just be the most broken boy he'd encountered yet."

As I sat down to write my review for the first book in the Redemption Ridge series by Aimee Nicole Walker, I came to the realization that I'd never read a book by this author that I didn't enjoy. In fact while talking about finishing Guys Like Him, one of my bookish friends stated the same. Walker consistently puts out books with likeable MCs and stories that tend to get you right in the feels. She often includes some scorching heat as well which of course ups this steam queens enjoyment even higher. Just sayin. I like what I like.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! This is already one of my fave reads. Just Kieran alone man he does in fact deserve the best version of himself. Hes insane observant and so funny when he lets himself be. I also love how willing he is to make up for anything he actually did. Hes just so kind but has never been given a shot to be the kind man he can be. Finley my beloved he's so good. He makes me believe in all the good stuff and he just gets it. These men really found something with each other. The chemistry was insane. While not a lot of actually smut, their clear attraction to each other was off then charts. I love how there's going to be an overarching plot and it's really cool. I do like how they wrapped up the main plot of this as well. I truly hope these boys get featured heavily as side characters for the rest of the series bc I'll definitely miss them. A banger opener!

Overall I enjoyed this book.
Some plot points seemed to just happen to move the story forward and felt too convinient. The writing style worked for me and I plan on continuing the series.
