It’s been fun reading these books for the first time after seeing all the films. I enjoy seeing the differences between the two. It’s fun because there are moments I like better in the movie, and moments that I really enjoy in the books. Looking forward to the next few reads since the books get so much thicker :)
I can't believe that It's the firt time I read a Harry Potter book in its original lenguage. I can tell you that even if I didn´t know a few words I've enjoyed it so much, and the last quidditch game it was amazing. And I loved knowing the way each character speak it's another thing than the spanish version doesn´t show.
I feel like I loved this one more as an adult than a kid...so wonderful and full of all kinds of hints and foreshadowing!! Not to mention JK's discussion of depression and the ways in which mental illness are unique to each person (re: Harry's reaction to the dementors). Also, this book made me realize for some reason that Dumbledore and Snape are foils for one another (potions masters and headmasters, physical opposites, good v bad, old v young, Gryffindor v Slytherin, etc)...would be interesting to look into some more :)
In my reading of this series the first time this book was my favorite one out of all 7. And it was the one that I was upset the most over when it came to the movies. So far it is still my favorite but that could change as I continue my reread. This is the first book of the series where Hermione seemed like a full fledge person to me. Lupin as grown on me as a character. This was such a nostalgic read for me. I really enjoyed it. And can't wait to continue with my reread with book 4 next month.
