This was quite good. I just wished that Remy and his mother would have been dealt with much earlier.

This was a good book. I really liked the characters and the banter between them. How they balanced each other out. It's 3 stars not because of anything bad, but because it just wasn't a favorite. It seemed a bit too long sometimes.

Makenna, a lone wolf who is working as a volunteer at a shelter for others like her, is in charge of finding new homes for her charges. She is investigating her latest charge's family when she meets his uncle Ryan, enforcer for the Phoenix pack.

The two of them are immediately attracted to one another, but her status as a lone wolf is an obstacle in any relationship between them. That is until Ryan realizes that she's his mate, at which point he starts pursuing her, despite her misgivings.

They spend time together while Ryan gets to know his nephew and his pack offers their help to the shelter, especially when trouble comes knocking.

A light, fluffy story in a world not particularly realistic, where the bad guys are all bad and the men are alpha to the extreme.

Next in the series comes [b:Fierce Obsessions|33283628|Fierce Obsessions (The Phoenix Pack, #6)|Suzanne Wright|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1491066123s/33283628.jpg|53099512] and Tao's story with the raven shifter Riley that he immediately mistrusts upon meeting her here.

Switched between the audiobook and ebook.

Aaaannd I've found my (another) BEST GIRL in the series!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love Ryan and his mysterious personality. However, Makenna is just the right mixture of quirky, sweet and funny! She's not a big fighter, but she fights for what she believes in. I love how big of a believer she is of causes that matter. I also love it that she's superstitious! Haha! Oh my, she's adorable! The entire book would have been lost without her wonderful personality! ^_^

What I also love about this book is the plot itself. It centers around homeless people (shifters) who found sanctuary in a shelter. I love it that no matter what happened to them, help is available to them. It kind of translates to how the author views our society nowadays. This is how the real world is. Bad things happen to good people, but there will always be other good people out there who are willing to help. I love that.

All in all, plot wise and character wise, this book is perfect. It's fun, action packed and you can punch me in the face if you don't learn a thing or two from it. ;) Trust me, It's worth the time, money and effort. :)

4 Solid Stars

Ok, I will admit that I have a soft spot for Ms. Wright. She writes great paranormal romance and the Phoenix Pack is full of charm, chemistry, humor and much more.

This was a great addition to the series. Ryan is quiet. Ryan is a bit stand-offish. But Ryan has always held my interest. We meet Makenna Wray and I thought she was perfect for Ryan. I loved watching their interactions. The story-line was different and held my interest. The slow romance build between Ryan and Makenna was done just right. We also got to see the whole gang, not too much but just enough to build on possible future books. While Feral Sins will always be my favorite, I'm glad that Ms. Wright can still deliver a great addition to this fun series.

Ryan ❤. Love this series and all of these characters. Including the Merc pack.

The heroines of this series are annoying af, except Terryn. The guys are okay, its just the heroines who are getting on my nerves cuz all of them are fucking same. Literally all of them are same, and idk how the fuck the heroines who are supposed to be submissive wolf become dominant wolf. As i said, all the girls and their personalities are SAME. Even some dialogues are same. Ugh. Roni, Shaya and Makeena are literally the worst from the other heroines, ugh i cant take them anymore.
