Ryan seems to be an emotionless man who can't commit when hes not. Makenna is a passionate girl who needs someone to love and Ryan is perfect for her even if she doesn't believe it. The love story was amazing. The action was great! Makenna relying what Ryan's grunts mean was hysterical. And him telling her "Don't say it" was priceless. This is very spicy. I really enjoyed this.

The fifth book in the The Phoenix Pack series begins with Makenna reaching out to Ryan in the Phoenix Pack. She has something of his and she wants to reunite him with it. Ryan, and the rest of the pack are unsure of her motives, especially when none of them like lone wolves and she's been alone for along time.

But as time goes on and Makenna gets into some trouble, Ryan and his pack are willing to help her out. And Ryan can't deny the chemistry between them even if she's having a hard time handling the truth he's going to make sure that she's his no matter what.

This was a great addition to this series. It had lots of humor, and the characters were great. We got to see the characters from previous books, and we also got to enjoy some new characters that were added to the mix as well.

This one did have some pretty twisted people in it as the bad guys too, which just added to the goodness of this story!

I look forward to more in this series.

Makenna, a lone wolf who is working as a volunteer at a shelter for others like her, is in charge of finding new homes for her charges. She is investigating her latest charge's family when she meets his uncle Ryan, enforcer for the Phoenix pack.

The two of them are immediately attracted to one another, but her status as a lone wolf is an obstacle in any relationship between them. That is until Ryan realizes that she's his mate, at which point he starts pursuing her, despite her misgivings.

They spend time together while Ryan gets to know his nephew and his pack offers their help to the shelter, especially when trouble comes knocking.

A light, fluffy story in a world not particularly realistic, where the bad guys are all bad and the men are alpha to the extreme.

Next in the series comes [b:Fierce Obsessions|33283628|Fierce Obsessions (The Phoenix Pack, #6)|Suzanne Wright|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1491066123s/33283628.jpg|53099512] and Tao's story with the raven shifter Riley that he immediately mistrusts upon meeting her here.

Still keeping this at 4*. I loved the tension in this one, even though it was pretty true to form from the other books, it also introduces characters that will come into play in later books.
I'm loving re-reading this series.

Liked this even better on re-read.

I loved this addition to the series. Ryan has been one of my favourite characters so far. Makenna is the kind of girl exactly what Ryan needed.

What fuckin bull. I grinned my way through this book. Ryan the grunting giant has finally met his match, and he really AIN'T ready.

Mckenna. God. Don't know where to start with this woman. The women in this series make me wish I wasn't straight. Anyway, let's tick some crucial boxes.

A perpetual badass with a kind side? Check. A woman who believes in myths and legends? Check. Someone to translate Ryan's grunts word to word? Check. Wifey material? Check. A lone wolf who volunteers in a shifter shelter and fights for those people because she never wants them to feel alone? Check. I mean, are you guys SERIOUS? What else can we really ask from her? I surrender. We stan. Period. Fullstop.

And Ryan... well, that bitch has always been a hottie, and that's what you get, except he's much more beneath that military haircut and tracker skills, and what I found, I loved. So here's hoping you will, too.

Happy Reading, xo!

My favorite so far but I had a feeling it would be. I always fall hard for the books with the troubled hero's. Really looking forward to Tao's and Dominic's books.

One note: You may want to read Spiral of a need the first book in the Mercury Pack series as it's main couple play into this books storyline.
