I won a paperback copy of this on a goodreads giveaway! They actually do giveaway books! This installment was better than the last few. Ryan and his little loner wolf were not annoying to me in any way. The first book in this series is by far the best. Three and a half stars. We see the old gang and some new shifter types. Hoping Tao hooks up with the new Raven shifter. Some cute kids added to the mix. So I'll read next one for sure. Not sure who the next couple is.

This one got me more than some of the others. I really enjoyed the backstory and themes in this one. Ryan’s grouch and McKenna’s sunshine but hesitance were really well written and played out throughout the story. This is such an easy series to read through and fall in love with.

As much as I liked Kenna and Ryan is my fave I was really unsure on their story. Not one of my faves of this series, but still a good read
I enjoy this series a lot. I don't remember much about Ryan from previous books. He doesn't stand out like Dominic or Tao or Trick so I have no idea why he was the next character to get his own book. I never "got" Ryan. I didn't find anything appealing about him. The grunting thing was annoying and only Makenna doing her translating made it tolerable. I liked Makenna a lot and the characters that worked at the shelter. The bad guy, Remy and his sick, disgusting self was a bit much.
Oh and can someone please kill Greta? Why have that mean old woman in every book? She stopped being funny and cute after book 2. Overall I liked revisiting the Phoenix Pack. I hope Tao's book is next or at least Dominic. Dominic is long overdue to find a mate that will tell him to take his corny jokes and shove it.

4.5 stars.
I'm a sucker for a good shifter romance so honestly this entire series may be reviewed in a biased way. They're just comfort reads to me I can't help rating it high, I enjoyed the heck out of it.
*Side note not having to do with this specific book*
I get self conscious because I deem a lot of books I read as 5 stars. A LOT. I base my reviews on how much I enjoy a book and to be honest, I'm easy to please for the most part. If a book has writing that I don't like though it's not getting five stars - plot on the other hand? Not picky. All of this is basically just if you chose to take notice in what I rate books and are wondering how I'm rating so many so high. Anyways lol

Makenna and Ryan's story is amazing and Suzanne Wright is now in my group of favorite PNR authors.
This is the first book I've read by her and I wish I'd read the others in this series first.
I don't recommend going in blind but I had so many people recommend this author to me, that I could not resist the opportunity to review this when I saw it on Netgalley.
If you haven't read the previous books in this series, I'd start from the beginning. And if you have, then you don't need me to tell you how amazingly well this author writes. So go on now, get your copy. opportunity to review this when I saw it on Netgalley.

Just like the other books in the series, this is a pretty quick & easy PNR. Perhaps not the best writing. Maybe there's a lot of cliches peppered through out. But when I need a werewolf book to scratch the itch, this isn't a bad way to pass an evening.

Received through NetGalley for an honest review.
She's not part of a pack, but that doesn't stop Makenna from helping other loners and making friends. But when she helps a loner teen connect with his distant relatives everything will change. And Ryan, a pack enforcer is the one that will do it. And she better not think of doing anything without him. His mate and she better get used to it.
Great shifter romance. Mature readers only due to sex and violence.
