Yes, yes, yes!!! Makenna and Ryan are just perfect together! I really loved them together and separately. I liked their times together, I think this one is my favorite book from this series.
Makenna is such a funny woman she is just perfect. I liked the shelter and also the side story with Ryan's family member.

In this series, I sometimes feel that the female characters are the same and some of the male characters, but it's not the case in this book. Both feel different and not the same as the other characters. I love how [a:Suzanne Wright|5769764|Suzanne Wright|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1331458504p2/5769764.jpg] has this way of giving each character something unique, and hate it at the same time when characters are still the same even after that, but whatever I am still here after all this time so I guess it's good enough for me.
I know some will consider me crazy because I still reread this series even after all this time but I doubt I will ever get over it. It is not the best-written series that I have read so far, I know that and I will not call it that, but I think it got into my heart and mind and I still can't leave this world that [a:Suzanne Wright|5769764|Suzanne Wright|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1331458504p2/5769764.jpg] created in this series. I think that once in a while I will 100% need to reread one book from Phoenix Pack or Mercury Pack series.

Makenna, my lone queen. She takes independence to the next level. Standing up for herself and others, working for the noblest cause, making it impossible for Ryan to do anything but fall for her.
He was per-sis-tent, and we love him for it. He put in the work Makenna deserved, being a constant and a fixed presence in her life the second he met her. Makenna needed to trust him and he went above and beyond for her.
She understood him like no one ever did, allowing him to fully open up to her.
This couple almost made me cry.

Struggled with this, the writing wasn’t great and I just didn’t love either character. Ryan was too broody and Makenna was trying too hard to be independent and not need anyone/not admit they were mates. Just felt a bit bored through most of the book and just wasn’t into it

I'm sorry, I just can't go on with this one. I haven't connected with the hero or the heroine. And the heroine sounds like all the other heroines in the series, right down to having a nickname for the hero. That's what's really grating on my nerves--the stupid nickname!
