I liked this one , i took a break , read another book and then came back , so maybe that made me miss the fam a little bit
Kye and his love for Ryan warms my heart , and i loved to see inside Ryan's head - wasn't much but better then nothing-
Kena and her friend... were okay , in this serie so far , Tyran was my favourite then Ronnie ... Riley the raven seems to be interesting so I'm excited to read about her and Tao next

Another hit with snarky shifters for Suzanne! I love these books. I like that they're not the stereotypical instalove perfect relationship type of books. While they are fated mates they have to work a bit for their HEA.
Using my 1-5 rating system of how many kleenex you need due to crying, how many times you need to change your panties, and how many asses you laugh off I give it:
1 kleenex/4 panties/3 asses
Characters:
Ryan- Ryan is the gruff ghost like grunting enforcer we have all wanted to know more about. We do finally learn more about Ryan and why he is so self contained. For once in these books he is the one that is not holding back in any way. What you see is what you get with Ryan.
Makenna- I love Makenna. She is extraordinarily quirky. She's not quite up to the level of Roni and her snarkiness but she's pretty high on the snarky scale. She believes in damn near every superstition imaginable. Instead of using random facts to make people leave her alone like Roni does she will use off the wall questions to diffuse socially awkward situations where no one is talking.
Overall I really liked this book, there just wasn't the emotional connection like there was in previous books for me. Suzanne writes amazing secondary characters and I think the lack of major angst actually might have led to me being more curious about them than worried about Ryan and Kenna. This is a solid read that should not be missed!

Makenna and Ryan
Another one of my lost & found NetGalley ARC which means I started the series at book 5 instead of book 1. It was easy to jump in and enjoy the story! I didn't feel lost in the slightest.
I enjoyed this book! Makenna and Ryan were a well-matched couple. I loved how she was easily able to interpret his grunts. I loved how he tried to be as patient as possible and see things from her perspective.
I'm intrigued by the side characters (for this book at least) and will likely be reading the rest of the series.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley. At some point I also purchased a copy. 🤷♀️
