I really enjoyed the content in this book but taking off a star for far too many POVs. I did feel like part one of story dragged out. There were like 150 chapters in the book, and the story felt choppy since a lot of chapters were short and jumped from character to character. I think it would have flowed better if the only POVs were Daniel and Ana, and the other characters’ stories were told through them. I will definitely be reading more of Sepetys’ books because I did like her storytelling and descriptiveness of Spain during this time period.

This was an excellent story about an interesting time in history I didn't know a lot about. It was beautifully written with interesting characters. I didn't love the ending- it felt a little rushed. But it was still a great read.
