Wonderful book full of amazing resources and ideas, written in a delightful and conversational style, from a person who is deeply in love with reading and on fire for kids to love reading too. I would recommend this book to anyone teaching reading and literacy to any age group.

Steven Layne is my new reading hero! He has all the reading goodness of [b:The Daily Five|827852|The Daily Five|Gail Boushey|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1289269574s/827852.jpg|813569] Sisters or [a:Donalyn Miller|1970104|Donalyn Miller|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1249616174p2/1970104.jpg], plus a satisfying handful of pigheadedness and snark. More than even his strategies, his determination that teachers can let their love of reading infect their students- and his insistence that "Yes, there is too money!"- is encouraging for educators.

I loved this book-- very practical ways to impart a love for reading. The best book I have read on this subject since "The Book Whisperer." Helpful as I will most likely be teaching reading next year.

Despite the fact that the author's writing style was obnoxious, this book was full of great things that fit right into any classroom where reading is already a huge priority. I'll be using almost all the ideas in my class this year and am excited about implementing them.

I am a future teacher and I enjoyed reading this book because Layne was honest about trying to get children to read.
