I love the Outlander story so it was I thought I would love this, I didn't. It was disjointed and was difficult to follow. The art work was like a period painting and fit the story well.

Very confused how there is new plots and characters but is never mentioned in the main books, even future books after outlander. The added pieces from Diana don’t make sense at all but I understand the purpose of it is to be a graphic novel. Loved seeing how the characters are portrayed and how different I imagined them, though the tv series may have influenced that.

This was a fun alternate view on the story that we already love. Seeing into the background of Gillie and Duncan a little more was interesting and I especially enjoyed seeing things from Murtagh's POV. I was a fun and quick read with great illustrations. I would love to see more things like this, how fun would it be to see Jem's take on living on the ridge or traveling thorough time.

Not remotely as good as the novel but I was curious to see how it was handled and how the characters were drawn.

Well, reading a Graphic Novel of a book that is so vivid in my imagination and that I have also seen a TV version of, might not be a great idea. It did not live up to my own imagination. Also: I had a really hard time distinguishing the drawn characters of Murtaugh, Column, Dougal and Jamie. But it was a good easy read and start to this PHRC 2022 challenge.

Lovely artwork, nicely captures the story in a more dramatic fashion than the book. I had a hard time getting started on Outlander many years ago -- I had written it off in my head as a bodice-ripper, but so glad I stuck with it. This is a great introduction to the series for anyone who hasn't read it (are you kidding me, you haven't read these books yet?!), just keep it away from the kids. A bit of nudity here and there!

A companion for Outlander fans, and a solid graphic novel overall. As a stand-alone, I think readers would be confused if they hadn’t read the original Outlander novel.

Hmm. This is hard to review because I am not a big fan of the graphic novel form. It was interesting seeing the slightly different take on the events of the book Outlander. It was also interesting to see visuals of many of the characters that I had a hard time picturing (or had never even really thought about). I liked the idea of this book, but I'm not really all that keen on the execution of it. I will say that the biggest problem with the book is how you could never really be sure how you were looking at -- the men all looked almost exactly alike! If you are a Gabaldon fan, it's worth a look, and I'm glad I got it and read it, but I'll probably never read it again.
