What a GREAT children's book based on Russian author Tolstoy's perception on Eastern philosophy. The most important thing you can do is do the best now for the person you are with now. Is this hedonistic? Or is this loving? What if you are religious? Does this go against religion? I love it. Will buy for my third- and first-grade children soon.
I love this book, based on a Tolstoy story. Beautiful illustrations and one of those kids' books that adults need to read too!
Beautifully illustrated, this children's book based on a book by Leo Tolstoy seeks to answer three of the most asked questions throughout history. I think the lesson is important and is valuable for children to learn. I will be reading this book to my kids one day.
What a sweet book! Read this with my 10yo son this morning about a boy who is struggling with making the right choices & being kind. He seeks out wisdom from his fury friends & in turn gets the answers to his 3 questions. A sweet read with lovely watercolor illustrations & a great story to read at the start of the day.

The illustrations were beautiful and I do love when an adult story is condensed for children. I'm not familiar with Tolstoy's story to be able to comment on that. However, I think that this may be a bit beyond something children can understand. I would consider being more parsed with it. Yes, you can explain it to kids as you read it but to not do do would, maybe not be confusing, but a little too deep.
Sometimes you need something easy and moving to reignite your desire to read. When those situations come up, I find children's literature the highest of all art forms.
