Vibes- COZY! I love Adam and Allison. There is no miscommunication trope! Yes! They are adorable and the premise is fun. There is one tiny spice scene. So mostly good kisses and tension. Each character has their own journey and their own growth. They mirror each other and it comes together with an adorable grand gesture I predicted, but still loved.
Brb. I’m going to read everything else Ellie Palmer ever wrote.
Summary-
Allison’s recent Ex Sam has died and his family doesn’t know. She is guilted into helping with packing his apartment with his grumpy best friend Adam. Adam and Allison both struggle with their growing attraction to each other.

This book had me from the start.

I’m usually hit or miss on the sunshine x grump trope but somehow this worked out well for me. The book itself was okay but I still ended up enjoying it. Nice to have a book where the characters are in their 30s and it’s not all toxic.

Cute story. I love Allison’s journey with guilt, self-discovery, and self-acceptance.

Solid book, hate the third act breakup, there wasn't much food, but I think there was pizza at the end?

Cute, fast, easy. Not overwhelming, and not overwhelmingly embarrassing (secondhand, of course, which seems to happen in more romance novels than not). It caused a nice little check-in with myself, am I trying to live a life that is true to me, and also a theory that we have these lives we picture ourselves in when we are younger that are completely antithetical to who we are but are valuable if we can integrate them with the life we are living.

So, cute fast and easy, but also thought provoking. And I had completely forgot about what prompted the new ‘theory’, aka useful conversational bit which applies in so many situations, until writing this review, so I’ll add a star.
