This adds a whole new level to who Darkstalker is as a dragon. I do wish that we got more of the other dragons stories in the future... who knows? Maybe we will!

I originally started this series because of the beautiful illustrations and the fact the story was all about dragons. I, however, did not bargain for the amount of UTTER HEARTBREAK AND EMOTIONAL TRAUMA these books would inflict upon me.

A dark tail that shows the true meaning if having to sacrifice.

Good book.

Honestly, this book was just so sad. It hurt me so badly
Darkstalker's love and family life is just so sad...
I love how Tui was able to make a villian that had some depth to them and not just their evil cause they're evil. She was able to show us more depth about him so I was able to know him better. I went from not liking Darkstalker to cherishing him. It's just so sad that he lost everything. His lover, friend, family, home, and life.
I wish I could've known more about Arctic. More specifically, I wish I could know more about Foeslayer and Arctic's love life.
I wanted to know more about Whiteout because I thought she was really interesting and she just felt like a background character and it doesn't seem fair that she didn't get as much of a role
All the characters had so much depth to them that it made it hard for me to hate them (except for the queen and her ex-seer, Clearsight's teacher. I hated her so much I forgot her name)
It's just unfair that they had to suffer so much and it left me crying even when I was finished. That's how much it affected me
Thank you Tui for this masterpiece.

Why didn’t I come across this series sooner?!? A book made for this demographic should not be this good. The characters are so beautifully written and complex, the subjects of morality are surprisingly adult, and the world-building is amazing.

I dare say this book is magnificent, and I cannot wait to read more of this series!
