It wasn't all bad, The plot and idea for the creatures and magical aspect are good, the characters however, there is not very much development, the two teenage main characters annoyed me. And the pace of it bored me and didn't grip me enough to continue reading the series.

Way too many ideas put into one in a way that is kinda... Lame? I just couldn't buy into the whole thing and am not interested in reading the rest of the series.
Notes:
Great narration by Denis O'Hare. I would put this in middle school grade reading vs YA. A nice adventure story for kids.

I didn’t think I’d like this kids adventure of an immortal and the elders fighting against evil, but it works. Works surprisingly well.
