the payoff on the little details + plot points was delicious
I read the first two books much earlier this year but kept putting this one off for some reason. No matter how cheesy, I believe the universe waited for me to find this book in the exact moment I needed it most.
This book made me believe in anything again. Despite how unique and tertiary order ! and rare El’s journey is, it’s also anyone’s journey. None of us can be perfect. None of us can bargain our way to a perfect world. None of us will live a life that causes no harm whatsoever. But we do our best. We show up anyways and fumble through and speak the future into existence without Deepthi’s wisdom and we stay. I needed this reminder.
Oh and this is the neatest third book in a trilogy I’ve ever read.

I dug it...
There were parts of this novel that were so well-written that I felt El's emotions. Although, much of the story was El's internal processing, I enjoyed it. The world-building continued to create a vivid picture in my mind and set scenes thoroughly. The characters were also easy to picture, although I wish we could have had more of them. We didn't get much of her friends and honestly, I think I would've liked the story more if it had been told from multiple perspectives, El's and Orion's particularly.
Recommending this series as a whole!
