So this one was better than the first, by far, though it still suffers from the not much going on yet X amount of pages that must be filled conundrum that many romance novels have. I liked Dell much better than Brady and Jade wasn’t nearly as idiotic as Lilah. And there were much fewer mentions of ice cream (except for the conversation near the end of the book) that made it more tolerable.

Why have I not read this series before? What rock have I been under to have missed such a great story and author? Since this is the second book in the Animal series, I wasn't sure if I was going to understand what is going on. Yet as I started reading it, the book definitely can be read as a stand alone novel. With that being said though, now I want to pick up the first book in the series to read about the other characters!

Jade ran away from her life in the big city after a tragic event at her previously place of employment. She ran to Sunshine, Idaho to rediscover and reinvent herself. She always knew it would be temporary and even told her boss Dell Connelly that the job he gives her would only be temporary. They have both found each other attractive, but never made any attempt at a relationship since Jade would be leaving. Of course, now that Jade is getting ready to leave, the two find themselves fighting the attraction even more. While Dell tries to get Jade to open up about what happened in the past and work through it, the two start to express their feelings towards each other and give up the fight. Everyone can see that they like each other, but is love enough to keep Jade from leaving?

I loved this story! Dell was a great vet, friend, brother and romantic lead. He was charming and loved his work without letting it get to him. Jade was okay in my opinion. I wanted her to just explain the situation sooner to Dell than keeping it a secret. I think if she would have opened up sooner to him, they could have had a better chance at a relationship. Of course then there would be no drama for the romance novel if it went the way a reader wants it to. So I trusted the author and went with it. I also loved the witty banter between the two and had a smile on my face for most of the book. The writing flowed easily and kept you not only interested in the main characters, but in the side characters as well.

I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series and have already read a few more by this author!

As always, Shalvis is my go-to author when I need sweet, cute, and heartwarming. Her romances and small towns are always so fun to read about, and they completely capture you and refuse to let go.

This series specifically is a lot of fun because the animals are ADORABLE. Beans is way cute, Gret is amazing, Peanut is delightful and all the animals that come and go make my heart warm. Seriously, men and women who love animals are just so sexy in my eyes!!

And Dell... Dell Capital L loves animals. And he is sweet and warm and caring. He uses an easy-going veneer to keep people at bay so they would never be close enough to hurt him, but he is fiercely protective and careful with the people who manage to break past that. All of that just makes him 12 times more sexy in my eyes.

One of those people who break through is Jade. Pretty, OCD, serious, and snarky, she appeared one day in Sunshine, Idaho, and has been keeping Dell off balance ever since. I loved this girl. She is strong and fierce but also vulnerable. She goes out to find strength and balance again, and the fact it doesn't always work doesn't deter her or keep her down. I loved how her healing progress was portrayed - not as a rising curve but as a jagged line of ups and downs. I was worried she would magically be better, but there was no magic involved. Just a lot of hard work, care and determination, and yes, quite a bit of help from the aforementioned sexy vet.

I loved watching their relationship progress, and their relationship was as sweet as it was HOT, but I really wanted to see more scenes with them as an established couple at the end. Maybe a meeting with the parents, too. I wasn't ready for the book to close, and my kindle did that annoying thing where it tells you there are 14 more minutes left, but actually, those are all previews for other books by the author, so you get sucker punched by the end. Seriously, petition to make previews NOT count toward to total page count and reading time?? It blindsides me every. freaking. time.

Sassy romance, a stray kitten, PUPPIES, and a reference to the hotness that is Nathan Fillion. What's not to love?

This was a pretty uneventful read. The first book had me laughing the whole time and really rooting for the characters to get together.

This one was just meh. It was so drawn out and repetitive. It could have easily been a hundred or more pages shorter if the author stopped telling the same scene over and over and over--

I'll probably put the 3rd book on my TBR but I imagine it'll sit there for quite a while.

I read this book in quick succession from Animal Magnetism and found it far too similar. Even some of the characters random thoughts were the exact same as others in the previous book!
I also found the overall plot frustrating - as a reader I did not find Jade’s need to go home understandable or as urgent/necessary as she expressed. So very predictable ending with her wanting to go back to sunshine.
I’m hoping I’ll like the next book more.

animal attraction by jill shalvis
Jade Bennett is heading to Chicago and back home but helps out in the animal shelter in Idaho.
Dell is the native American vet and loves all the animals.
A bunch of the locals hang out together, some in pairs, some as singles and they all enjoy their time. As the book goes on we find out just how secure she feels and what she ran away from in the city.
She finds it hard to let others into her life and he's determined to crack her shell. They had a break in and some drugs were stolen. one that they use for a date rape drug and it sends shivers in her body. It's also a horse tranquilizer.
He's witnessed a few of her panic attacks and tries to hold her and talk softly to her to help her get over them. Her solution is to get in the car and drive, move away.
Because of his training in the military he can help her with learning how to protect herself and he takes her to the gym and tells her the moves she makes wrong.
Love catching up with the others in town who were also in the previous book of this series. Hot steamy sex just adds to this story..
He opens up and shows her his personal hidden world and she understands what makes him tick.

I loved that this book had a little more to it than the usual romance. The story behind Jade was reat and always pulled you in
