Really good...hard to read at times, but I think it's a must for everyone.

I don't know how I feel about this book.
To say I enjoyed it would be weird, but the narration was lively and engaging and I found the subject well presented and interesting.
I don't know much about Columbine so I went into this without any preconceived ideas about the school shooting.
This book is mostly mulling over the why. And seems to come to the conclusion that Eric Harris was a psychopath and Dylan Klebold was depressed.
I'm not sure I found the argument entirely convincing all the time, but have no real evidence or solid ground on which to base that view and neither do I have any more compelling arguments to offer.

I want to note that my rating only focuses on how this book was written! I do not think it is appropriate to rate non ficition, especially not in this case.
However commenting on the writing style I have to say that this story was written incredibly well for being non ficiton.
The stories and different accounts were all mixed which made it an even more interesting read because you never felt like something had been dragged on for too long.

10 years after it was written, 20 years after the shooting, it is still relevant, and informative. A great tracking of the event, and it's ripples of influence.

This took me many months to read. There are a lot of inconsistencies, but at the time Dave was going off of the only information released, most of them being primary sources. This book is very graphic. I cried almost every session I had reading it. Dave does a good job at placing you in the victim's/survivor's headspace. You can tell he put a lot of effort into this book. The main reason I picked it up was because I knew it was inconsistent/controversial, and while it is, it still does a good job at showing how horrible the massacre was and still continues to be. If you read this book, I'd recommend looking up the inconsistencies Dave has corrected, and be prepared for lots of graphic descriptions.
