Wow, this story hit me right in the gut. It was not as lighthearted as other books Melanie has written and was probably the hardest to read in this series. It's one I'll probably remember forever because of how it made me feel! I cannot imagine what Hannah goes through let alone Wes. I loved their chemistry and I really enjoyed their journey. It wasn't easy and you weren't sure if they were going to make it but, it was real and honest. I loved seeing more of Margot and Jack and Jack's brothers! An amazing ending to this series, that I loved!

2.5 stars for me. This one fell short for me. This book was the reason for reading this series.

Reviewing this one is going to be tough... I don’t know why this story was so difficult to me. I have read some pretty dark and/ or taboo stuff and loved it. Yet, this... I couldn’t read without cringing.

I was completely weirded out by Hannah and Wes’ relationship. Even with the mentioning of Drew’s affair(which I’m sure was supposed to add a chip in their approval column), I still didn’t feel it justified their relationship. And yes I know Wes saw her and loved her first. I just found their coupledom to be weird. Now I wasn’t as grossed out like Lenore, but I definitely aligned more with her POV.

Ugh... I mean he became Abby’s uncle and stepdad😳. WTH?!

I think I kept reading because I was waiting on the one thing that would make it ok in my eyes and it never came.
Sorry this one wasn’t for me. 🤷🏾‍♀️

This was a good read - Hannah lost her husband, who happened to have an identical twin. As is often the case, personalities are not identical, and Wes loved Hannah first, but was too shy to ask her out. This isn't a spoiler, it comes out in the first chapter.

But after Hannah's husband dies, Wes comes home. It's hard for Hannah and her daughter Abby to see a mirror image of Drew. Add in an overbearing and judgmental mother-in-law, plus the small town gossip factor, and you have all the ingredients for a compelling story.

Spoiler
I was just surprised that DNA was never mentioned - as identical twins, Abby is not just Wes's niece, she's biologically his daughter in a way. And any children that come in the future will be full siblings, not to mention (ew) cousins LOL... I just think that's an interesting point of view and kept waiting for someone to mention it in the book ;)

Intriguing

I know this is the fourth book in the series, but I read it first. And Wes was just perfect. I can't imagine finding the love of your life and having your twin brother sweep in and take her. All the years he loved her and they finally got their HEA. Just wondering if the blue shoes and polish were hints as to what they are having...

I adored most of this book. It was so sweet, and the romance felt really meaningful. I love the 'I loved her first' trope. It was so perfect for this story and made perfect sense. The healing in this book was immaculate.

The only thing I disliked was the mother-in-law. She was a piece of work. Even after the apology, I was still upset at everything she put them through. Talk about not being able to read the room. I wanted to throw my Kindle.

I absolutely loved this story! It was a second chance at love story that was so heartbreaking but also so heartwarming, sweet and sexy! Everyone is still heartbroken two years after Drew's sudden death. Hannah thought she had forever with her husband and father of her young daughter, Abby. Now his twin brother, Wes, is home from Africa and he is bringing all her pain back to the surface. But Wes is hurting as well. He misses his twin brother, but he loved Hannah first, and he will do whatever it takes to help her and Abby be whole again. Wes is so sweet, patient, and loving. He looks like Drew on the outside but he is the opposite in every other way and is exactly what Hannah wants and needs. Hannah is smart, and strong, and such a wonderful mom to adorable little Abby. The growth of their relationship was so honest and real. They had to make sure it was true and that no one would be hurt by their growing love. I loved the journey that this story took me on. It was poignant, heartbreaking, heartwarming, funny and passionate. This emotional and sexy second chance romance is a beautiful story that will make you really feel everything and is storytelling at it's absolute finest.
