I absolutely LOVED this novella! It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before. A la folie is the first erotic horror romance i’ve read. It was original, steamy, intriguing, captivating, shocking, unexpectedly & deliciously twisted! Lux & Indie are EVERYTHING! Lux’s backstory is tragic, but explains why he is the way he is as an adult. Indie feels lost and alone due to the sad events in her life & because of the way her life currently is. They are INSTANTLY captivated by eachother. I loved the dynamic of their situation with eachother, and I was extremley happy with the way the story ended. However, I was so intrigued by one of the secondary characters. Johnny was something else. He was completely unhinged & I found myself wanting to know more about him and his story! I hope in the followup to this novella, Maison De Fous, we get to learn more about Johnny & I’m especially curious about his backstory!! all in alll, this was a very well rounded story for how short it was & I 10/10 recommend. As usual, check the TWs. i do NOT suggest going into this one blind!
This was a new one for me and it was deliciously dark! Super fast paced so it holds your interest the entire book. I most definitely read this in one sitting. I cannot wait for book two and see how Lux and Indie’s story unfolds!

This is my first Nova Kane book and WoW. I wish I had found her sooner. This Novella had me hood from page one. I could not put it down, Also I could not speak or do any type of real life work until I finished it, I am still gathering my thoughts on this one.
Indie and Lux, well they were the perfect pairing and the spice was so right on this one. This is so very unhinged, toxic, tumultuous and so not right at all. But guess what? I want more and I want it more. Is this a 10 out of 10? Yep, it's also going into my top 10 of the year. I can not wait to read more of Nova Kanes unhinged beauty’s and I will be stalking her socials for more. Without a doubt 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
This book does touch on grief, addiction and other subject matter so please check triggers. It is a novella so I will try not to say anything that is a spoiler. Bur I will say it is fast paced spicy and has found family all in one. I would definitely recommend.

This was a book that I occasionally read with one hand over my eyes. It's dark and dramatic, but also disturbing. Is it horror, romance, contemporary, smut? I don't know, probably a little bit of everything.
There were also some stylistic choices with grammar not to my taste (mainly regarding use if commas and punctuation), but not enough to reduce my enjoyment of the story overall.
Warning: DO read the TW/CWs in the beginning of the book. There were parts I skimmed, but I will still definitely read the next book.
Might recommend (to a select audience), will read more from the author.
