lighthearted

It's a cutesy story, okay for its genre, but what really bugs me is the way it normalises painful sex. It's the kind of toxic message that leads to health problems down the line.  Just no. If it hurts, you're doing it wrong.
I also wish the authors had gotten some feedback on penetrative sex from people with prostates (and look up its placement), because the inaccuracies are so cringy.

So So Sweet!

Ah!! Classic Jock and the nerdy guy, but so much better than that! This book is sweet and sexy and swoony. I love that you can feel the emotions of these characters. The amount of second hand embarrassment I felt was hilarious. Great start to this series!

The first half of the book felt pretty whatever and started to strengthen by the end but it just didn't live up to some of the other crazy good hockey books I've read. Not a bad book, just didn't hit the same.

edit: ok i initially gave this book a 3.75 but i'm changing it to a 2.75. i started the puckboys series and this book was so unmemorable that i didn't even realize foster was in the series until 5 books in AND THAT WAS ONLY BECAUSE I CHECKED WHERE ASHER WAS FROM. and that in iteself goes to attest how mid this book was. after reading, I had no urge to go read any of the other books in the CU series.

TO BE FAIR, I initially listened to the audiobook for this book and I really really didn't like the narrators. after I finish the puckboys series, if I get the urge to, I may give the CU series another shot and will read the ebook for this book then

There comes a point too nerdy and socially strange collide too much in romance.
somethings are just too painful to read, not cute at all.
I'm sorry, this book was not for me albeit written very well.
