I read this a long time ago and can't even remember what the book was about. All I know is that I LOVED it and every time I go into a book store I look to see if there are any other books by this author. I could never find one until I logged on here and saw that there are two more books in this series!! Super excited to read them

This book is a victim of its own fans. Going in I was being told how life changing and beautiful this book was, and I have to say after four or five chapters I gave up. Nothing about the main character or the world was anything new to me. All that's been done is you took a generic bard character from a D&D campaign and given them a rouge's tragic backstory.
I can get settled and follow along with a long story like American gods or the first Dune book, but this one didn't have a hook. The stuff I read was well writing but I didn't feel like I had anything to look forward too.

I'd like to physically read this instead of listening to the audiobook. It's going back on the TBR.
