This is a hard one to rate, since I thought about quitting the first half, but the last quarter was creepy and interesting. It was just so slow and the hooks to keep me interested were lacking.

The audiobook experience made this a 5 for me. Full cast and mixed media. Really well done. Perfect spooky, fall read. Bonus 90s nostalgia.

I absolutely loved the whole concept and idea of this book and the execution was mostly on point. There were some minor details that niggled at me a little bit but overall this a really solid and creepy story! Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Super interesting but it slightly dragged a little bit.

Not at all what I expected but super good nonetheless.
Dead Eleven is Harper’s search for his missing sister on an island that might as well not exist. According to the internet, it pretty much doesn’t exist. The residents are odd and ritualistic and give visitors a cold welcome. There’s a weird boarded up house, unexplained earthquakes. OJ Simpsons Bronco chase is playing over and over again on TV.
Can Harper find Willow before it’s too late?
I loved the intensity of Willow’s grief and the various relationships formed throughout the story. This felt natural and realistic in a story that’s anything but. The ending is sad and I knew what was coming but I prayed for something else anyways.
Dead Eleven was a true paranormal story, Goosebumps-for-adults vibes.
