Leah Brunner is my go-to for hockey romances. Her books are precious with all unique voices and I’ve enjoyed every single one. This may be book three of a series, but it holds its own and can be read as a standalone.

Synopsis:
Ford and Amber have been best friends since childhood. After Amber’s engagement ends, she’s left to become a single parent to her three-month-old and figure out how to pay for a heart surgery. Ford steps up to marry her so she can use his insurance.

My Thoughts:
Nothing makes me melt more than a man being adorable with a child that is not biologically his own. And Ford was just making me melt all over the place. I loved his and Amber’s dynamic. This is quite possibly by new favorite of the series. I’m also kinda obsessed with friends to lovers and “that’s my wife” moments. So basically this whole book was everything I’ve ever wanted.

My favorite of the series so far (all have been great). I really connected with the characters. Ford and Amber have been love in the making for years, but it took until now for them to finally align together.

Ford and Amber have been best friends since elementary school. Amber just had a baby, but her ex broker off their engagement when he found out she was pregnant. At the birth, Amber found out she needed surgery. She goes to Ford for help.

Ford, taking the request to the extreme, offers marriage, and thus insurance, for the surgery. Ford is autistic, but not many people know, not even his teammates due to previous experience with sharing this information. Amber is the only woman Ford has loved, and one off the only people that he feels comfortable with, especially with physical contact.
