A fun introductory book to the Bridgerton world. Not the best of the series nor the worst. Period typical attitudes about gender roles and family planning are included, so bear that in mind.

First half: entertaining. Second half: gag.

Casually talking about rape and passing it off as justifiable is not okay. The dialogue and sex scenes in the second half are over the top and super cheesy. Also, Daphne doesn’t even know what sex is but manages to climax the first time? Ooookay…

Listened to the audiobook. I knew I probably wasn't going to like the book after watching the show, which I really like. This is the type of romance I don't typically read because there's nothing else really going on other than their relationship. Undecided if I'll listen to the others or just stick with the show!

Bridgerton books are just as good as the series šŸ˜ the series is a fantastic adaption, it follows the plot quite closely. It’s always enjoyable hearing how each character thinks and feels though ✨

The diamond of this season 🤭

At this point we all know the Bridgerton Netflix series and although I wish I read these before I watched, I’ve really wanted to get into them. I decided to check out the audiobook versions and after book one, I am not disappointed. I enjoyed the detail provided and the ā€œvibeā€ so to speak. Hearing the British accent made me feel more immersed in the story and attached to our main characters. I enjoyed Simon’s character. He felt very human and had me emotional to see him succeed. The ā€œcourtingā€ didn’t seem to take very long but it felt playful and loving which had me more attached to Daphne as well. The time period is an interesting one to read about and although not all of it is a life I would’ve like to live, it feels glamorous to read about it!

She actually rape him and the end feel rushed so I’m not really fond, the rape wasn’t needed
